I have always loved the holidays. For some reason I have been blessed, like the Hero Boy in the Polar Express, and have always been able to hear the magical sound of the Christmas bell.
From the warm gatherings around Thanksgiving tables to the fresh smell of pine and woodsmoke in the cold December air, the holiday season invites.
Here in the Warwick Valley the season is celebrated with real small town flair during Home for the Holidays when you can take a sleigh ride through the village, sing along with Christmas carolers, and attend the annual tree and menorah lightings.
Holiday traditions abound. Mine include pork pie on Christmas morning with steaming cups of hot coco and watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. When I was a kid one of our traditions was having the WPIX channel 11 Yule Log on the tv on Christmas Eve.
This IS a special time of the year. You can feel it in the air, see it in the eyes of your neighbors, taste in the special holiday dishes and desserts and you can touch it with your hands when you give someone you love a gift.
LCStudios wishes all of you a very Happy Holiday!
